Steve and Jane are in a coffee shop.They are drinking a cup of coffee.Later they are going to a movie.

Steve：Did you watch television last night?
Jane：No.What was on?
Steve：A western.
Jane：I don't like westerns.
Steve：Why?
Jane：They're all the same.
Steve：But they're fun.
Jane：I don't enjoy them.
Steve：What kind of movies do you like?
Jane：I like love stories.
Steve：Why do all girls like love stories?
Jane：Because they're so romantic.
Steve：But they're so boring.
Jane：No,they're not.They're very interesting.
Steve：Anyway.drink your coffee and let's go.
Jane：What's on. by the way.
Steve："Stagecoach."
Jane：Oh,no!

1.watch televison
「テレビ番組を見る」televisionの前にthe とか a がつかないのに注意しましょう。
テレビを見ると言うのは、番組を見ることなので冠詞がいらないのです。
watch the televisonというと機械自体を見つめることになります。
しかし「ラジオを聞く」という時には、逆にtheが必要で、listen to the radio となります。

2.on
on は、テレビ・映画などで「～をしている」の意味で使います。

What's on televison?
What's on at the movies?
What's on at the theater?

3.A western.
western はこの場合「西部劇」のことです。

4.fun
funには複数系のsはつけません。また単数形にしてIt's a fun.という言い方もしません。
It's fun. They're fun.と言います。

5.What kind of～
kindの代わりにsortやtypeも使われます。

6.love stories
「恋愛物語」のこと

7.romantic
日本語では「ロマンチック」ですが、英語ではだいぶ発音が違います。

8.boring
「退屈な、人を退屈させる」

9.Anyway
「とにかく」anyhowともいいます。

10.by the way
「ところで」という意味。文の初めに使われますが、このように文の終わりに使われることもあります。

11.Stagecoach.
「駅馬車」のこと。

管理者の小言です。最近めっきり体が弱くなりました。風邪をひきやすくなったり、体の疲れがたまったり、なんとかならないもんですかね～
